This website is owned and operated by Joystar Capital, LLC (“Joystar Capital”, the “Company”, “we”, or “us”). Joystar Capital may collect personal information about you. We are a controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and we process Personal Information provided by you through your use of our websites. This Privacy Policy sets forth how we use and protect Personal Information collected about you, including through the Joystar Capital website and during the normal operations of our company.

Joystar Capital also collects Personal Information about individuals in connection with due diligence we conduct when considering investment opportunities.

We collect Personal Information from individuals associated with our portfolio companies in connection with events we host (e.g., CEO summits or Joystar Capital workshops).

In addition, in the ordinary operation of our business, we may collect Personal Information from portfolio companies regarding the shareholders of such companies, typically in the form of capitalization tables.

We may collect the following categories of Personal Information:

(A) Identifiers

Such as your real name, home address, business address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, email address, telephone number, account name, social security number, driver’s license number, employer identification number, passport number, date of birth, or other similar identifiers.

  • We may collect this from you directly, from portfolio companies, talent search firms, social networking platforms, or third-party research services.

Such as age, sex, race, national origin and citizenship status.

  • Portfolio companies may supply us with this information as part of ongoing due diligence.
  • We may receive this directly from you or from our portfolio companies.
  • We may share this with service providers as part of our business operations.

(C) Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity

Including information regarding a consumer’s interaction with an internet web site, application, or advertisement.

  • We collect this to facilitate the operation of our Sites.
  • We collect this when you visit our sites.
  • We may share this with service providers including Google Analytics.

California residents may have the right:

Requests to Know

You may have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected, sold, or disclosed about you, as well as the sources, purposes, and third parties involved. Requests to Delete

You may request deletion of your Personal Information via 888.274.4511 or [email protected]. Upon receiving a verified request, we will delete your information unless otherwise authorized by law.

Verifiable Requests

We will acknowledge receipt of requests within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days after verifying your identity. We may ask you to provide certain Personal Information to match against our records for verification purposes.

No Sale of Personal Information

Joystar Capital does not sell consumers’ Personal Information. In the last 12 months, we have not sold Personal Information.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf with written permission, or through a power of attorney pursuant to Probate Code sections 4000–4465.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on our legitimate business interests in maintaining business relationships and communicating about Joystar Capital’s business. For Personal Information collected via cookies, we rely on affirmative consent.

6. No Requirement to Submit Personal Information

You are not required to submit information to us through this website. However, if you visit our Site we may collect cookies after obtaining your consent.

You have the right to request deletion if it is no longer necessary for its original purpose, subject to applicable law. You have the right to restrict processing in some circumstances, to receive your data in a machine-readable format, to object to processing for marketing purposes, and to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

Joystar Capital has implemented appropriate technical security measures to help protect your Personal Information against loss and unauthorized access. We consider the protection of sensitive information to be a sound business practice, and employ physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your Personal Information.

11. Breach Procedures

In the event of a security breach leading to accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure of Personal Information, we will notify the applicable supervisory authority in the European Union within 72 hours of discovery, unless the breach is unlikely to result in a risk to individuals’ rights and freedoms. We will also notify affected individuals without undue delay if the breach is likely to result in a high risk to their rights and freedoms.

This Privacy Policy was updated October 1, 2020. We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices with respect to the processing of Personal Information or changes in applicable law.
